My latest cake!! For my dad's b-day :)

Mini me!!

My baby is so big!!

Reese had her 18 month check-up on Friday. We were a month and a half late. :) So basically at 19 months, she weighed 24 lbs and was 32 3/4 inches tall. She's getting so big!! She had a couple shots and she took it like a champ. I think she cried more when she was getting weighed and measured.. She is terrified of that thing! Anyways..all is good! Her doctor recommended that I put her in a mothers day out thing..to start socializing.. BUT I think I would feel guilty dumping her off somewhere while I sit at home.. it doesn't make sense to me. Maybe when I get pregnant again and am completely exhausted, I might change my mind. :) So in the meantime we enrolled Reese in The Little Gym. She will be starting this Thursday and they had a time open so that Sean can come straight from work to watch! I'm sure it will be quite entertaining.. She already likes doing forward rolls.. She tries to do it by herself, but she pretty much tucks her head and falls on her side, rolls over and starts clapping and says yay!! This has resulted in many bruises on her hip. (I swear I don't beat my kid ) She also knows a dance routine. We add a new move every now and then and its HILARIOUS. I need to record it and share with everyone! She is turning into quite the character! She is starting to want to play dress up and she likes playing with the magnetic dress up doll that I have in my store. Its fun to watch sean play with her and put shoes on the dolls ears and pants for a hat.. I think Reese is going to be confused..haha. She is also talking really well lately, and she will pretty much repeat everything you say. (Dangerous) She will come up to me randomly and say a new word and point to something.. Like she just figured it out for the 1st time.. Its so cute! Her latest sayings are- Where it go? There he is!! Where daddy go? Where is he? Go byebye? Go home!? Aw Tute! (Aw cute), Pease?(please), Tutu!!(Thankyou), BumBom? (spongebob), DA!!(Dora), hoohee(movie), and Sowi! (sorry) The last one she learned cuz she started hitting sean or me and I would put her in the naughty corner.. Then we make her say sorry to whoever she hit and give us a hug when shes done. Now she says sorry for EVERYTHING! She will drop something, or run into you, or throw her shoes down the stairs and say Saaawi!! I think its an attempt to stay out of the corner. ;) Eh..at least its in her vocab even though she doesn't quite get it yet..

In other news, Binkie Baby is doing well. I have a meeting with an old aquaintence who is a personal chef and makes homemade organic baby food. So I might be adding that option to my store in the next few months!! Super fun!!

I guess thats it for now!!

Binkie Baby Updates!!

Ok.. I am totally going to use this thing as free advertising for my store. So when I have any new items or changes I will post about them here. If you don't really care, then just pretend..k?

I recently ordered new toys for BBB (Binkie Baby Boutique) from Melissa & Doug. I like the company because its been around for 20 years and was originally started by a goofy couple in their parents' garage. It eventually grew and grew to be a top toy company in America. They have won tons of toy awards and although they aren't "green" or "organic" they have extremely high safety standards and are tested a million times before they hit the market. I also like that they have weird toys that you can't find at Walmart or places like that. You know..like the sushi slicing play food set and etc. I have added the newbies to my website, but there are a few that haven't come in yet. The Slice and Bake Cookie Set, and the Grill Set are coming soon!! (SOOO CUTE) Check out the new ones under toys or new items-Melissa & Doug @ www.binkiebabyboutique.com

I am also trying to come up with ideas for marketing my store. One of my latest ideas is to get my friends to add my website link to their blogs and etc.. Any takers?? :) That way when people read your blogs, they might see the link and go take a peek! Let me know if anyone is interested..

Is that a Snickers Bar?

We just recently started to "attempt" potty training. The average age to start is about 20 months, so I decided that this whole month I would dedicate myself to the art of toilet training. It was nice weather the other day..about mid 70's and so Reese and I took her potty chair in the back yard, I stripped her from her diaper, and let her run free! She seemed to really love the wind beneath her cheeks as she played with her toys (it was quite hilarious to look at). I took advantage of the moment to read up on the latest US Weekly gossip.. you know..researching what the celeb babies are wearing these days.. what? Its for my job.. Anyways, I heard a faint grunting in the background just as I discovered that Sweet Shoes Silver Janes (which I carry in my store) was on page 11 on hot trends for tots!! I knew I had good taste. I jumped up and ran over to Reese and picked her up to go put her on her potty, but it was too late. A big #2 was laying on the grass. Ew. Well I put her on the potty anyways and went through the whole deal about we don't poo poo in the grass we poopoo in the potty...blah blah blah.. and I was describing how to push (like she knows what I'm talking about) and she just laughed and was copying my push noise. She eventually got up and ran away and I noticed that she totally peed in the potty!! I know it was on accident..probably from all the laughing and pushing, but we still had a party and ate M&Ms. Day 1-success. Well, kind of. The gross part was trying to figure out what to do with the man turd laying by all her toys. Sean suggested throwing over the fence into the neighbors backyard (WHICH I didn't). I freaked out and he said, "What? They have a Great Dane..nobody will notice!) I ended up flushing it down the toilet where poop belongs. Hey- It was a good lesson for Reese. Now she knows that if she poops in the grass she has to carry it all the way to the toilet. :)

What is this blogging thing...?

So I have recently decided to start a blog after being coaxed by some of my friends..you know who you are.. My New Years resolution was to start one on January 1st. I am also a procrastinator..so here we are!! January 12th..not too bad. I think the purpose of this is to keep friends and fam up to date on our crazy life without having to pick up the phone..sad huh? :) It's true though.. There is lots going on in the 'ol Abke house with my business (Binkie Baby Boutique) and Sean's activities..oh yeah and most importantly REESE! She already has a following. I'm thinking she's going to be the next Suri.. She has been asking me if she can start her own blog..but I'm thinkin 19 months is a little too young.. Anyways, I will try to actually keep blogging (another resolution) and we will see how it goes!!

PEACE
